Is there a way to eliminate CO2 in our environment?

a href="http://environment.about.com/od/globalwarming/tp/globalwarmtips.htm" rel="nofollow"http://environment.about.com/od/globalwa…/a Looking at this, I found that we can decrease the amount of CO2 that we emit annually, but even plants can only recycle CO2, and global warming will only continue to rise without drastic measures. Even electric cars have not yet gained very much popularity. I'm sure there's no way to completely get rid of some matter (due to the law of conservation of matter/energy), but what would be the most effective way to reduce global warming?
