I work with a lovely guy who unexpectedly gave me a present on my last birthday which was rather extravagant.?

Since then he's been more attentive to me - smiling, laughing at my jokes, finding reasons to talk to me and always being complimentary towards me. I suppose the question I'm asking is I get that there is an attraction there on his part and I certainly like him but I'm quite shy and not the usual sort of girl men usually seem to go for so am relatively inexperienced in what to do next. There is also workplace gossip that he is a bit of a charmer so not sure if reading signals right anyway. Help!
